What is the difference between framed and non-framed web forwarding?
Framed based web forwarding uses HTML code to put your website within an invisible frame. This means that the URL in the web browser will display the domain name and not the forwarding URL (i.e. your freespace address). If this invisible frame interferes with frames you already have within your site then you should use non-framed web forwarding. In the case of non-framed web forwarding the domain name in the address bar will change when the browser is redirected.
What does catch-all forwarding do?
Catch-all forwarding allows you to automatically forward every e-mail sent to your domain to another e-mail address. For instance to look more professional your website will want to have different e-mail addresses for different departments. Catch-all e-mail allows you to do that and have all the e-mail forwarded to your ISP e-mail address, for example:
sales@yourdomain.co.uk > you@your-isp.co.uk
info@yourdomain.co.uk > you@your-isp.co.uk
I'd like a group of people to be able to receive e-mail at my domain. Can I do this?
Yes, all domain accounts allow you to create up to 100 different e-mail forwarding addresses. You can configure these by logging into your Domain Control Panel.
My email forwarding does not appear to be working. What is wrong?
If email forwarding for your domain is not working then you will need to check the following.
- Make sure the changes have had time to take effect. Changes can take up to 15 minutes.
- Check that you are forwarding the mail to a valid email address. You can check this by sending an email to the address directly to make sure it arrives.
- Make sure the domain name has had time to propagate. Propagation takes anywhere from 24 - 72 hours.
- Make sure the domain name is pointing to the right nameservers. If it is not set to our nameservers then web and email forwarding will not work.
If these are all correct then you will need to let us know about the problem. Make sure you include the domain name and the email address you are trying to forward to and any other relevant information you might have such as error messages or bounced emails.
My domain is pointing to the Webanet holding page and not the hosted account!
Please report this problem to the support team and we will update our internal DNS to point the domain to your hosted account.
How can I change the name servers for my domain name?
This is simple with Webanet and will not cost you a penny! Simply log into the Webanet Members Area, open the Domain Control Panel for the domain that you want to change the nameserver for and click 'Change your nameserver details'. Enter the relevant details in the spaces provided and the nameservers will be updated.
I have created my holding page but I can't see it on the web.
Please remember that it takes up to three days for your domain name to fully propagate and be available over the Internet.
