Domain Registration Support

Please find below our support section about domain name registration. If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us.

Q: I have just purchased a domain name and it isn't showing up in my web browser. Why doesn't it work?

A: A new domain name typically takes around 24-48 hours to propagate once it has been registered. You can set up web and email forwarding for the domain at any time but they won't take effect until the name is fully propagated.

Q: Why does a domain name need to propagate? What does this mean? What happens when a domain name is registered?

A: When a domain name is registered, the details for the domain name are sent to the relevant domain registrar. From this information the DNS on other servers gets updated. Because they are not all updated at the same time, it can take 24 - 72 hours for all the servers to show the updated information. During this time the information that is shown depends on the DNS that is queried and whether or not it has been updated. This also occurs when any changes are made to a domain name. The old information could be shown intermittently. The time it takes for all DNS to be updated is known as domain propagation.

Q: My domain has been registered but I cannot access the Domain Control Panel in the members area. Why is this?

A: We do not enable the Domain Control Panel for new domain names until the domain name has full propagated. This usually takes 24-48 hours.
